1.0s Chassis Frame and Cage
 
 Chassis 
  • Any American made production chassis with a minimum stock wheelbase of 101- 110" inches, from 1972 to current date. No truck bodies are allowed.
    • Chassis may not be altered from stock appearance unless noted in the rules.
    • No alteration/moving of chassis suspension mounting points or spring locations
    • Cross-member may be only altered for engine clearance.
    • Reconstruction of chassis permitted from steering box forward .
    • Reconstruction of chassis permitted from center of rear wheels back.
      • Construction must resemble stock placement.
      • Minimum 2" X 3" steel box tubing .083 thickness may be used.
      • No bars may travel under rear end housing.
    • Wheel base must stay to specifications of chassis used with 1” tolerance.
    • The use of X-Y-G Mandrel bend Johnson chassis with no modifications is permitted.
    • The use of  DCA racefab as manufactured 
    • Front mandrel bend clip assemblies from Johnson & DCA may be used on stock metric chassis.
    • Uni-body chassis may use sub-frame connectors.
      • Only bolt in types allowed that travel straight back from front snout to rear leaf spring brackets.
      • Tubing may be welded across connecting subframes,
      • No part of roll cage can be welded to sub frame connectors.
      • Sub-frame must be removable.
         
  • Ground Clearance  (with driver)
    • Chassis 5 inches
    • Fuel Cell 10 inches
    • Exhaust 3 inches
       
  • Crankshaft height / placement
    • 13 inches
    • Centered between frame rails +/- 1.0"
  • Motor Mounts:
    • All engines must be in stock location for chassis being used.
    • Steel motor mounts may be used.
    • Mounts must remain in stock location.
    • Notching of frame for fuel pump clearance is not allowed
    • No engine plates.
    • GM chassis will use distance between centerline of bolts outlined,
      • forward most fuel pump mounting bolt and the upper idler-arm to frame mounting bolt; measurement 8.75” +/- .25” so long as bolts are deem to be in stock location.

 

Cage
  • Main Cage ( Halo, Front and Rear Hoop, Ear bar and Door bars)
    • Must have a four point symmetrical structure that fully extends from left to right equally.
    • Tubing -1and 3/4 inch with minimum 0.90 wall tubing
    • Main Hoop
      • Must be one piece continuous length
      • welded  perpendicular to the top of the chassis or floor on to 1/8" plates
      • 90 degrees to frame rail
      • Lower ball joint to main hoop can be no more than 83.5 inches.
    • Roof  Bar
      • Must extend forward from the outer edges of the main roll bar
      • May not be offset to the chassis.
      • Must follow the contour of the windshield as it bends across the front
      • Must maintain a close distance to the roof.
         
    • Brain bar must be added
    • Center windshield bar mandatory
    • One piece of tubing running diagonally or perpendicular between halo
      • Must be centered
         
    • Door bars
      • 4 driver's door bars
        • Must be horizontal and equally spaced
        • must have six vertical bars connecting each horizontal bar.
        • The placement of left side driver support plates is mandatory. Solid steel plates of 0.125-inch (1/8”) must be either inside, outside or between horizontal door bars. Door plates must be bolted or welded in place.
           
      • 4 Right Side door bars required
    • Padding
      • All roll cage bars must be padded, anywhere within driver's reach.
         
  • Bumpers
    • Bumper heights must be 16" to center front and rear.
    • Stock OEM bumpers must be used if exposed and be capped if cut, and connect to body.
    • Non OEM
      •  Covered
      • Single tube - front conforming to nose
      • Single tube - rear conforming to bumper cover
      • Must contour to body
    • No sharp edges.
    • No bumper over riders on front or rear
    • Subject to official approval for design and quality
       
  • Jack post not allowed
     
  • Weights
    • Right side total minimum 1450 lbs.
      • Driver must be positioned with full gear
      • Ballast
        • Lead only
        • Mounted Securely
          • Minimum 2 1/2 diameter bolts
          • Solid block form
          • Painted White
          • Car number must be clearly marked
          • Within 3 inches of Main Frame Rails
            •  3" will be measured from rear frame in front of rear wheels.
          • Ballast behind rear wheels must be mounted off 2" x 3" steel box tubing supported off frame.
          • No weight is permitted inside driver's compartment of car.
          • No weight shifting devices.
