Trevor Pertelli
King of the Bull Rings
It took two days to sort out but when the dust cleared, Trevor
Pertelli put together a pair of great runs to win the 1st battle of
the bull rings. Drivers were warned to drive clean and count their
incidents on the track. The race had 14 cautions caused by just a
handful of competitors. This stat sparked an investigation. S. Ampaholic,
and Gary0 Andretti, who finished 1-2 on the track, were penalized
for violating the 3 spin rule. They were relegated to 7th and 8th
for the race. This enforcement was absolutely necessary for other
competitors that had been involved in incidents had followed the
rules and disconnected. Furthermore, S. Ampaholic caused 4 cautions,
one of which effected his taking over the top spot.
Trevor repeated the same consistent
performance at Oxford and took advantage of a late race incident
between Alce Correndo and S. Ampaholic to secure his second win of
the night.
As far as the penalties go, the Pro-Tour allowed
both Andretti and
Ampaholic to protest the action against them but neither shose to
take advantage of the protest provision. To demonstrate their
displeasure with the rule enforcement,
they resigned from the league. Larry Dee, who was never a factor in
the evening due to computer problems,
also resigned.
The Pro-Tour heads to Thunderbay next
Wednesday. This is the most popular track the Pro-Tour runs on.
