Matt Kenseth was criticized for winning his 2003 championship with consistency. He silenced all the critics in the second race of the season by dominating most of the Subway 400.  The last lap had everyone on their feet as he held off a hard charging Kasey Kahne. The margin of victory was .010 seconds.
