Rules-like them or not,
you need rules.
The overriding
theme of the rules is this; if you are a respectful racer trying to
compete and have fun, we are going to do everything we can to make a
great atmosphere to run in, and if you are disruptive you gotta go.
The Pro-Tour follows the SRF server
rules except for the listings on this page. The rules listed here
are only those that differ from the SRF Server rules.
The segment that differs will often be highlighted by yellow text.
-
Server Failure
-
Server failure,
whether it be by human error, or technical issue, that kicks
the entire field is rare. In the event it does happen the
following guideline will be used to take the proper course
of action.
- Races with
under 50% complete will be rerun including qualifying
- Races 50%
complete and over will be deemed official if the
finishing order at the exact time of the incident
can be agreed upon between those signed in as
administrators.
-
In
the event the race results cannot be
determined, the entire race will be schedule for the
week after the final week of the season, and only be
run if it has a bearing on those in the top 5 in
points.
- Individual
Driver Disconnects ultimately come under the heading of the
"players responsibility for his connection". Should a driver
be disconnected, and he is able to rejoin the race, the
following policy will be used to "credit" laps solely at the
race directors discretion.
-
Drivers that have cars with "significant damage" will
not have laps credited back in any way. Significant
damage is over $300 dollars on the analyzer.
-
All drivers will have their damage reviewed to
compare pre and post disconnect levels.
-
Drivers that had more significant damage before the
disconnect will be placed last.
-
Drivers that have an improvement of their
cars performance after the reconnect will be
reviewed by the race director. The race director may
make adjustments solely on his discretion
-
Drivers
with under $300 dollars damage will be credited laps to
show their position as 1 lap down to the leader. This
may be done by admins crediting laps when possible.
Should the admins be unable to credit the laps, it will
be done post race.
-
Once positioned, the reconnected competitor must
pit for full service within 1 lap of the current
leader pitting or sooner.
-
Please
note...all of rule 4 is at the discretion of the admin.
Many times there may be only 1 admin signed in. Should
the admin's racing be adversely effected by trying to
credit laps, the rule may be applied post race. Drivers
falling out of races should stay in the server to serve
as an admin when possible.
- Scoring
-
All cars must complete the required distance
- Laps must
be complete from start line to finish line to count.
- The only
other laps that may be counted towards finishing
position are those credited by an admin.
- Any other
laps scored will be adjusted off upon review.
-
Starts and Restarts:
-
Green means Green. Passing is allowed
from the drop of the green in the Pro-Tour.
- Cars that are trying to catch the pack may
find it necessary to violate the "Restart Pace" rule. When
they do catch the pack they may not pass any cars until
they complete one full lap under green. If they follow this
procedure no penalty will be issued.
-
If you are the cause the initial start to be restarted, you
must announce that you are the driver at fault via chat or
TeamSpeak, and
do a drive "through penalty" under green once the
race is underway. If you are
found at fault of an incident that causes a restart, and you
do not complete the self imposed pass through, you will be
assessed a 4 lap penalty after the race. This penalty may be
waived at the sole discretion of the race director
- Pitting
-
Speeding
Penalty This is a self imposing rule* (See SRF
Server rules) Drivers must
do a drive through or face a 2 lap penalty if found to be in
violation post race.
- Extended time on pit row
penalty. (See SRF Server rules)....... the
driver taking the extended stop will be penalized 5 laps.
- Stopping penalty after pit
service...
(See
SRF Server rules) Cars that violate this
procedure will be penalized 5 laps.
- Overtaking
-
Tight-competition and bump-drafting is allowed.
If you cause a car to spin while running extremely tight, or
bump-drafting, you must do a self imposed pass through the
pits. Failure to do so will result in a 5 lap penalty. This
rule applies even if the yellow does not come out.
- Off the pace cars are expected to yield
to lead lap cars by moving to the bottom/inside of the
track. Off pace cars must not drive in the corner so hard
as to push up into the outside groove. They are to give extra
room and adjust there acceleration and braking in a manner that
allows the lead lap cars to pass with ease.
-
At all tracks
except road courses the "out of bounds" rule that NASCAR uses on
Super Speedways will be in effect. If a
car initiates a pass, and then advances position
by going below the yellow/white line separating the apron from the racing surface,
that driver must either give the position
back or be penalized 1 lap per occurrence.
Anytime the inside line is not visible or to
the right of your car when viewed from the outside, camera 1
or 2 on replay, you are below it.
If you cause a
caution while any part of your car is below the yellow/white line you
will be
disqualified. This rule may be waived when the normal racing groove
extends below the line. If the rule is waived it will be
announced pre-race or in the specific race rules.
- Cautions
-
Pro-Tour events allow racing back to the line as the game
allows.
-
Minimum speed under caution is 10 mph less than the pace
car speed unless you are entering or exiting the pits, once
the pace car is leading the field.
-
The
Pro-Tour does not utilize the "wave around"
- Cars must
maintain a tight line throughout the caution. You are required
to close up on the leader and the cars in front of you.
-
If you are the
cause of two cautions during a race ,whether
they be solo spins, other solo events, or accidents, you are
expected to park your car. In races with "no cautions"
incidents that result in damage to other competitors, that
are your fault count as a caution.
This is a self-enforcing rule and if found in violation, you
will be penalized. The rule only extends to official
events and not fun runs added to the night's program. The
race director may wave or adjust this rule if the resulting
caution caused no damage to other cars, or if you are an
inexperienced driver.
Please check with the race director by chat
before you sit out.
-
Tows
- Although the
game allows it, for league races tows for crashed cars will not be allowed.
If your car gets towed you must retire. Assistance from
other cars to avoid a tow is allowed. If you run out
of gas towing is allowed.
- Cars and Car
Files 12/14/2010
- All competitors
must utilize cars from our car set. Your file name must match
everyone else racing. Custom cars are accepted. To be credited
with a finish you must be in an appropriately named car file.
Replays may be asked for to confirm your car file name. Special
permission can be granted in race circumstances but only by that
race director. Run the car updater often to insure you have the
correct car set.
- Protests and
Penalties
- Every race will be
reviewed. We will try our best not to penalize anyone. We will
try to utilize warnings so please take them seriously.
If you receive a warning and have
the same infraction within 4 weeks, you will receive a
penalty. Penalties for the same violation will
increase in severity until a 4 week period can be completed
without infractions.
-
All penalties and protests from any race must be acted on by the
next event.
-
Violations that cause another drivers race
to be effected, or gain an advantage must be penalized.
-
Penalties are at the sole discretion of
the race director. The race director for any event is the person
or persons that set up the server.
- Rule Changes /
Amendments
-
These rules may be changed /amended at any time.
- Special Events
may have special rules as per the race director.
